5 weeks post op!
Yay!
I am healing! I can see improvements in some aspects, but others, not quite yet. Currently I am slated to go back to work on July 29th and I requested an extension due to numbness in my left leg that occurs when I sit for longer than 15 minutes and flares up with any activity. I am still getting broken sleep and some days that leaves me riddled with brain fog and unable to complete all my tasks like showering. Mentally, otherwise I feel okay. I do keep my mind stimulated with writing when I am strong enough to and have the time to sit and focus. Which isn't long sometimes. I am making due with what I am working with and it's tricky sometimes.
I would like to share with you a few things that are different that I am noticing- my leg hair is actually growing and more of it! I never had that! I always had just little wispy hairs that nobody could see. Now I have a few more than a couple, which is interesting to me! I have a straight back! I never had a straight back- it was always a sway back and curved inward due to the vertebral slip. My legs when I wake up shake, I don't know how to explain it, but they contract for a few minutes after I wake up.
I drove my daughter to work today to get me used to getting up and going out in the morning just like I too am headed to work. Which worked in that I woke up and drove her, but then had to come back home and lay down to alleviate my pain in my left leg. I am working on small manageable goals that will eventually lead up to going in to work. Now, I didn't shower or change my clothes when I left, but that will come tomorrow. I will add more in. Hopefully, I will be able to do more as the week progresses without any recourse. It's a fine line and balance.
