Day 30 post op., and I woke up at 4 a.m.. I did end up having to take muscle relaxers throughout the day yesterday and my last one was yesterday at 5:30 p.m.. Otherwise, nothing eventful about yesterday's recovery except phone call follow-ups from my health care provider and the state of Washington. Otherwise the day was uneventful.
I do like that I will hold myself accountable to adding a blog in the morning, instead of waiting or putting it off 'til later in the day. I have much more energy in the morning than later in the day and so it's more likely to get done than if I wait.
I am tired this morning. My muscles are sore, my shoulders are tight and I have a headache that I took a Tylenol for last night. I slept okay last night, no weird incidents to report other than I woke up on my side and that was a surprise. I don't remember rolling over to my side last night, so that is interesting to me. I know my back is getting tired and very sore of being laid on and needs a break.
It's been one month since my surgery and I am excited for what the future holds with my new bionic back. I can see improvements and when I am done healing I am hoping for a full recovery. Iike before I had the spondylolisthesis symptoms. *That's my hopeful thinking. I just have to get through the residual nerve pain and numbness, stay focused and keep doing my daily walks. Most importantly remind myself it's a marathon and not a sprint.
Today in Mass we heard about Moses and the burning bush, where God instructed him to go into Egypt to lead His people to freedom and Moses response was "who am I that to tell Pharaoh," God's response "I'll be with you." Reminding us that God is always with us. Truly am blessed to be able to hear and share the good word of our Lord with you. I had to look it up- but today's reading is Exodus 3:1-6, 9-12.
