66 Days Post Op
I have now started week 2 of my virtual PT. I met with my virtual PT twice so far. It is a free service that my insurance covers for me and I am thankful for the service while I am in interim for in person physical therapy. It's been a while since I've been to in person therapy and I am kinda anxious about what it entails. Sure, I can look it up online and I am sure Chat GPT has something to say about it, but, I'd rather wait until I actually go, so I don't have any preconceived notions of the service I am going to receive.
Exercises I am doing in PT:
- Heel raises
- Shoulder rolls
- Seated knee extensions (this one is hard for my tight hamstrings)
- Doorway stretch
- Standing March
In addition to the PT exercises, I am walking about 2 miles and as of two days ago, my right foot and leg started burning and is painful all the time. I walk about 2 miles on most days and most recently noticed my right heel has started hurting and is constantly in pain, including a burning sensation down my right leg. I haven't reported it to my doctor yet, as I feel it is all part of the healing process and if it becomes worse, I'll send them a message in my e-chart.
This morning was a win as I got up, made and drank coffee, then took a shower and headed out the door. It's too bad that not too long after that I was in bed resting my back again. Note to self- must work on all day activities if I am to return back to work as planned. I will take the wins where I can. Living with a condition is tough enough and if you are always criticizing yourself, or being hard on yourself, it just makes the process a lot harder. So, I choose to be kind to myself and focus on God's love, mercy and beautiful gifts He's bestowed upon me instead.
I was able to complete 3/4th's of the Mass and pray The Holy Rosary twice today.
God's love is bountiful and His mercy is endless, if we can take a moment each day to acknowledge our shortcomings and accept HIs mercies to share with others is truly a blessing.
May the love of God always draw you near.
